A Marriage Between Sparrows

750.00

A love poem in silver and brass. This pendant depicts two fraternal twin sparrow skulls, connected with heart, brain and breath. It is constructed out of 5 separately cut layers of fine silver, sterling silver and bronze sheet, then layered, polished and oxidized. It measures approximately 2 1/5" tall by 2 1/4" wide, with a thickness of 4mm at it's thickest part. It is strung from an 18" sterling box chain.

A note on my use of bronze ~ I have become quite enamored with the look of silver and gold together in one piece. The mix of color helps to define the image, but the cost of gold is very high and I'd like to make my work more accessable as each piece is extremely labor intensize. The bronze I use (also called jeweler's brass, red brass, NuGold, or German gold) is the closest color match to 14K gold.
